Meena born on 16th September, 1978 in Chennai. Her parents are R. Durai Raj and Raj Mallika. Her mother is Raj Mallika a famous politician, and former Actress.
Her education from JRK and Vidyodaya schools in Chennai. Because of her busy acting schedule she had to discontinue schooling inthe 8th standard, later taking up private coaching and completing the10th standard. She went on to get her MA in History from the University of Madras through the open university system.
Meena is a trained Bharathanatyam dancer and speaks six languages well Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and English.
Meena started her career as a child artist inTelugu and Tamil films.
She became a heroine at a young age of 12 years old while doing her 8th grade. Ever since is one of the most successful actresses in South Indian cinema.
Meena debted her career as a child artist in the film Nenjangal in 1982 when she was 4 years old featuring Dr Sivaji Ganesan in the lead role.
At the age of 12, she became a heroine in the film "Oru pudhiya kathai". Her Telugu debut as a heroine was in "Nava Yugam". Her first role in Malayalam that gained attention was in Santhwanam.

She acted in the TV serial Mudda Mandaram on Gemini TV. She appeared in a serial on Sun TV in 2009 called Kalyanam, written by Pattukottai Prabhakar. She has appeared in adverts for such products as cosmetics, jewellery, and silks.
Meena has done more than 40 Tamil movies and a couple of Telugu, Malyalam and Hindi movies also.
She had hits with films like Muthu, Ejaman, Veera , Avvai Shanmughi and Mutamestri.
She got Nandi Awards from Govt. of Andhra Pradesh for 1992 for Seetha Ramayyagarri Manavaralu and 1993 for Rajeshwari Kalyanam. And Best Actress State Award from Govt. of Tamilnadu in 1993 for Yejaman and Sethupathi IPS, 1997 for Bharathi Kannamma, and 1998 for Porkaalam.
Meena got married to a software engineer from Bengaluru at Tirupathion 12 July 2009.
