Amisha Patel's career began as an economic analyst at Khandwala Securities Limited after graduation. Later on, she received an offer from Morgan Stanley but turned it down.




She did not have any plans of being an actress, but when Amit's friend, film-maker and actor, Rakesh Roshan, met her during a family lunch, he offered her the lead role in 'Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai'. Amisha accepted the offer.

Making her acting debut in the blockbuster Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai (2000), Patel won critical praise for her performance in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), which became one of the biggest hits in the history of Hindi cinema,earning her a Filmfare Special Performance Award. She would subsequently star in a number of films.


In her second film, the Telugu language drama Badri, she starred opposite Pawan Kalyan. The film was a major success, grossing more than Rs 120 million in India.

Vidya Balan Biography

Vidya Balan is an Indian actress, who appears in Bollywood films.


Vidya Balan was born on 1^st January, 1978 in Ottapalam, Palakkad District, Kerala in a Tamil speaking Iyer family.


Her father is P. R. Balan (Vice President of ETC Channel) and her mother is a housewife. She has an elder sister, Priya. However, South Indian sexy actress Priyamani is her cousin sister.


She did her schooling at St. Anthony Girls' High School, Chembur, Mumbai, and later attended St. Xavier's College where she majored in Sociology. She went on to study MA at the University of Mumbai, when she got her first film offer.


After graduating in sociology, she began her career starring in many music videos, T.V shows and many commercials, before appearing in movies.




Her acting career started when she signed up for the Malayalam film Chakram, alongside Mohanlal but the film was shelved. After that, she signed on for the Tamil film, Run, but for reasons undisclosed, she was dropped after a first schedule and replaced by Meera Jasmine. When Chakram was restarted with Prithviraj in the lead, Meera Jasmine was chosen ahead of Vidya Balan again.




She then turned to television advertising. From 1998 onwards, she appeared in numerous television ads, many of which were directed by Pradeep Sarkar. She also took supporting roles in music videos, appearing with singers and bands such as Euphoria, Shubha Mudgal, and Pankaj Udhas. Balan also portrayed the role of Radhika Mathur in a few episodes of the later seasons of Hum Paanch.


Finally in 2003, Vidya Balan made her movie debut in the Bengali film, Bhalo Theko, directed by Goutam Halder for which she won the Anandalok Puraskar Best Actress award in Kolkata.




Later in 2005, she made her Bollywood film debut with Parineeta. Her performance in that film was acclaimed by critics, earning her a Filmfare Best Female Debut Award and a nomination for Filmfare Best Actress Award.


She subsequently essayed a variety of character roles, receiving her first commercial success with Rajkumar Hirani's Lage Raho Munna Bhai in 2006. Once again her performance was well received by critics and the film became the second highest grossing film of that year.


She followed it with Heyy Babyy (2008) and Bhool Bhulaiya (2008),the latter earning her another nomination for a Filmfare Award for Best Actress. In 2009 she appeared in R. Balki's Paa, in a performance that ultimately won her a Filmfare Award for Best Actress.

Sarika was born 3^rd June, 1962 into a Maharashtrian family in New Delhi., and became an acclaimed National Award winning actress soon.
